For 70 years, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has been an unwavering example of service to Canada and to the Commonwealth. This momentous occasion is an opportunity to celebrate those who make our community better, while paying tribute to the lifetime of work and commitment of our Queen.

While government issued 60,000 medals in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee, a repeat of the gesture was not planned federally. I therefore commissioned Platinum Jubilee Medallions for presentation to individuals who have made contributions in any number of fields, including community service, business, arts and culture, sports, education, volunteerism, first aid/CPR and military service..

Individual constituents were able to nominate individuals they believed were deserving of recognition for their contributions. They did so via my website, via email and telephone and via letter mail.

The medallion presentations took place at the EA Rawlinson Centre in Prince Albert on Friday, April 21st, and in the Hanover Room at the Tisdale RecPLEX on Saturday, April 22nd.
